The greatest achievements in life are not achieved by individuals alone but by pro-active people pulling together for a common good.’ (John J. Murphy)

Going through the Parish archives, one can come to know that the seed of our plan for a new school in Kialla was planted during the time of Monsignor Frank Hickey. With the acquisition of a block of land in Raftery Road, initial efforts then suffered a setback when the same block of land was not approved by the City Council for an educational facility as it is in a flood-prone area.

It was sometime in 2003, during the time of Fr Michael Grace when the idea to acquire another block of land was pursued. And it was towards the end of 2014 that the Parish finally acquired a block of land which was subsequently approved by the Council. Hence, the dream for a new school became alive again.

From the beginning, it has been and continues to be the dream of everyone. Thus, the dream of what it could be just never ends! Like the mustard seed, what we now have and where we are now, in the pursuit of our dream, is a product of small yet collective efforts and contributions of so many people over all these years.

It is in that same spirit that we continue to gather the ‘little stones’ that we all have for the building up and realization of our dream. As one African proverb tells us, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’

And why the dream for a new school?

The ‘dream’ is a profound expression of our firm belief in the great value of Catholic education for our children and young people. Considering the ever-changing landscape in our city, it is our response to the clarion call for the need for a provision of a new Catholic school in the area. It is also our strong belief that parents should have the right to choose a good education for their children. And we have always believed in providing our children and young people with a holistic education; that is educating the mind, body and soul of our children.

We wish to provide a new and perhaps a different yet safe and supportive environment in which our students not only achieve good grades and high test scores but also practice the core human values and the values of the Gospel that will lead to both personal and professional success to them. We hope to provide our children and young people the necessary tools for them to become good-hearted and productive people.

Our dream is the dream of parents who want their children to grow up with their potential fully developed and enjoy life to the full!
